 Activity Overview

On August 28, in partnership with the Palm Beach Pediatric Society, we hosted part 2 of our 3-part series, The Trauma-Informed Pediatric Practice: The Superheroes have arrived! This part of the series will focus on how Palm Beach County Schools are helping students in mental health crisis with the CAPE team and other mental health services, including prevention and early intervention supports.

Target Audience

This activity is designed for an audience of physicians, physician associates, nurses, psychologists, and social workers.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Outline the mental health resources available to children in school.
  • Discuss policies and procedures in place for Palm Beach County School students who have suicidal ideation.
  • Describe the daily roles and responsibilities of behavioral health specialists.
  • Identify best strategies to collaborate with pediatric health community.

Psychologists

Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs. 

Social Workers

As a Jointly Accredited Organization, AKH Inc., Advancing Knowledge in Healthcare is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. AKH Inc.
